![]() ![]() Its full range and sensitivity to the nuances of tone is revealed, as it faithfully reproduces the sound of wood and phosphor bronze strings. “This amp works perfectly with acoustic bass. Setting the controls is also a pleasure, because you can feel that the knobs are not made of cheap plastic and will serve you for years.” “There is not many small combos with such a compact, yet very versatile and multifunctional control panel like the Carvin MB15. With almost maximum amplification and setting the EQ to match the character of the stage, the sound turned out to be tonal, clean and full of harmonic content typical to bass guitar.” “In the open space, Carvin Micro Bass BX showed its teeth. The equipment was delivered for review by official Carvin distributor in Poland, RockTone.īelow are some excerpts from a review by gear department editor Maciek Warda: You wont be dissapointed.TopGuitar is proud to inform, that the November issue of the magazine features a review of the Micro Bass BX MB15 bass guitar combo amplifier from Carvin. It weighs about 50 lbs, and that's really portable considering that's a large amp inside.įor about $400, this combo amp has some of the best low end I've heard, and for higher frequencies it compares pretty close to a 2X10 I own. Duratuff carpet lining, birch plywood cabinet. The construction in this unit is excellent. I can't think of a better bass stack for the money. This amp is 160 watts bridged into 8ohms, and I even hooked a nice 4ohm 2x10 carvin cabinet in along with it, and it has plenty of power in biamp range. The tweeter has an adjustment pad in the back, and you can decide how much high frequencies you want it to play. This has to be the best combo with a 15" speaker and a tweeter. ![]() I have had zero problems with it, and it even has a cutout switch, where if the amp is overpowered, it shuts down. This has almost as much, or the same amount of construction and features as SWR combos. There is even a compressor/gate and a 5 band eq. This was about $400 (450 after tax and shipping) ordered directly from the Carvin online site.Įxcellent amp, speaker, tweeter. Looks durable, versatile and it has a cool metal grill in front. You should check out carvin and there other awesome products. Overall it's a great amp with lots of power and clarity ,not to mention punch! ![]() Well, it's very light, it's made out of poplar wood(7 ply laminated), and covered with duratuff II black carpet, which looks kind of durable and it's quite comfy when you sit on it to practice.absolute satisfaction I really can't think of something that I didn't like. It has effect loop inputs (for my POD), headphone jack (practicing) and other speaker outputs at 4ohm's each. The slapping noise is very nice because of the addition of a tweeter which has an ajustable pad in the rear of the amp for individual adjustment. Anyway, some other features include 5 band EQ (adjustable) pre-shaping (low, mid's and high's). At home when I plugged it I inmediatley felt the punchiness and clarity of the amp plus it has a compressor and a noise gate wich is elemental for my band when it comes to practicing (noise is a "stressed out" band worst enemy). When I recieved the amp (in the box) I was surprised how light it was, considering the power. First of all, I wanted a good quality bass for an accesible price and a good number of watts, I needed at least a good 100 watter for my gigs.I found this great amp at carvins' web page retailing at $400 and with a wattage of 160 at 8 ohms fully bridge, of course I fell for it.I bought it directly from carvin at their san diego store/showroom in sale for $366 with taxes. The store is not to big, but considering is just their products (carvin) they have a ton of things, the staff is very friendly, they speak spanish (as my parents) and they even let me try the amp with my choice of the many custom basses they ol!! ![]()
